GTA Online: The Project Breakaway File Mission Guide In Agents Of Sabotage

The Project Breakaway File is one of the four jobs you can accept from Jodi in the Agents of Sabotage update in Grand Theft Auto Online. It consists of using an RC car to hack a truck and blow up gas pumps to gain access to a facility where you need to steal some hard drives. Along the way, you'll encounter some difficult-to-complete steps, so your payday isn't guaranteed.

Fortunately, we have a step-by-step walkthrough that shows you exactly how to complete The Project Breakaway File in GTA Online.

The first mission in The Project Breakaway File is to steal an RC car from a local scrapyard and drive it to different areas searching for a van. Stealing the RC car is simple, as there are no enemies around and the controls for it are located in the back of a car.

Once you have the controls for the RC car, you can start using it from your current location. With the RC car, you need to drive it to different areas that are marked by a white dot on your map. There are three potential areas you can drive to with the goal of finding a specific van. I only had to drive to the first area I chose, but your experience may differ.

If you pick the right area and find the van, you need to stay right on its tail and progress the "Unlocking" bar to 100% in the bottom-right corner of the screen. Once the unlock bar has reached 100%, the back door of the van will open, allowing you to drive up and stow the RC car in a bin.

The next task for The Project Breakaway File is to steal Thermal Charges. Before you do that, though, you have to go to the Post OP Depot and find a delivery list, which will tell you where the Thermal Charges are located.

At the Post OP Depot, you have to take out a few enemies before accessing a small office room. Here, on the right-hand desk, you'll find the delivery list. Snap a picture of the list using your phone and exit the Post OP Depot.

Now, you're headed to a new waypoint on the map that takes you to a SecuroServ warehouse. Outside the warehouse, there are several enemies you need to take out before going inside. Once they're dealt with, enter the warehouse and kill two more enemies inside. You can then find and loot the Thermal Charges that are sitting on a shelf in the back of the room.

A few more enemies will bust inside after you take the charges, but after that, you're home free to the garment factory.

The last set-up mission in The Project Breakaway File sees you break into an apartment, locate a secret basement room, steal malware from it, and then kill an agent.

You can find the apartment in Los Santos and once you're inside, you'll have to hack into a security panel on the wall to access the secret basement. Be careful not to mess up the hacking, though, as if you do, enemies in the basement and cops will be alerted. The hacking is simple, as all you have to do is click when the middle red line is in between two white blocks.

In the basement, eliminate the enemies and steal the malware from a server stack in the back of the room. With the malware, head back outside, where you'll have to eliminate an agent that's caught onto your plans.

The agent can be chased down in their car and once they're dead, take a picture of their body to send to Jodi. You can now return to the garment factory with the malware.

You're now on the last mission for The Project Breakaway File. The first task is to take a car and use the Trackify App on your phone to locate Project Breakaway. You do this by following a red dot on a radar until you find the right location. You can do this manually or take a look at our map screenshot above to see exactly where to go.

Once you're at the location, take out the security guards near the garage entrance. However, there are additional enemies in the garage you also need to eliminate, and there are a fair few of them, so make sure you have armor and ammo.

Once the guards are dealt with, you need to bring out the RC car and use it to destroy a gas pump that's inside the building. This is fairly easy, as the RC car just needs to get near the gas pump and detonate an explosive to do the job. The gas pump is indicated by a red arrow above it inside the building.

After the RC car takes care of the gas, you can head inside the building from the garage.

Inside the building, go to the back of the room where the computer set-up is and plug in the malware to the server stack. Then, go to the terminal and hack your way in. The word you need to spell in the hacking section is: "M O N E Y."

With the terminal hacked, go to the locked cages and plant a thermal charge on the locks. You're looking for three separate stacks of hard drives and server blades, which are located on the crates inside the cages. Make sure to plant a thermal charge on all the marked cages on your mini-map and look for every available item before trying to exit the garage.

Once all three hard drive stacks are found, exit the building and go back to the garage.

In the garage, steal a car and exit up the ramp, where a plethora of enemies will be waiting. Simply drive straight through them, which can be challenging since there's a chopper in the sky, and go to the waypoint on your map.

If you make it to the waypoint, you'll find the buyer and make the exchange. This completes The Project Breakaway File and rewards you with up to $180k. There are three bonuses you can hit to reach that payday, which are:
